peanuts and its benefits

10 Health Benefits of Peanuts

Salted, roasted, grinded, boiled or raw, peanuts are simply awesome in all forms. Eating because you are hungry, or just like that after the dinner, peanuts are always a treat to your taste buds. They are crispy, coarsely, tasty and like an all time munching snack that you can enjoy with or without anything else! But along with all of this, it has some even better purposes to serve to your health. It has ten major health benefits. These are

1. Peanuts for muscles:

Peanuts contain vitamin B that increases energy, prevents muscle spasms and cramps. They also help your body, in order to effectively absorb protein and fat and increase the metabolism, hence making it a perfect pre and post workout food.

2. Peanuts for cholesterol:

Peanuts tends to lower down and control the cholesterol levels of your body. Also, the copper content in peanuts helps in reducing bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol.

3. Peanuts for depression:

When you feel depressed, the amount of serotonin( a brain chemical involved in mood regulation) produced is less. Peanuts contain tryptophan which are the essential amino acids that helps in production of the brain chemical serotonin. Hence, making you feel better.

4. Peanuts for memory:

Peanuts contain vitamin B3 or niacin, which helps in proper brain functioning and boosting memory. This is also the reason why peanuts have been given the title of ‘brain food’!

5. Peanuts for heart disease:

Peanuts or any other nuts reduces the risk of heart diseases. Peanuts are enriched of heart friendly mono saturated fats and various antioxidants such as oleic acid etc. Regular consumption of peanuts will keep you away from the cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases.

6. Peanuts for protein:

‘P’ for Peanuts and ‘P’ for proteins. Now since they both sound somewhat similar, they both go hand in hand with each other. ‘P’nuts are rich in protein content and also have iron, zinc, magnesium & other vitamins in significant amounts. And for those, who do not eat red meat or are vegetarians/vegans, can go for peanuts in order to ensure the everyday intake of adequate protein in their body.

7. Peanuts for weight loss:

sleeping disorder

sleeping at one time or another in our life. Sleep disorders can come in many forms, but they all disturb our sleep pattern. The lack of a good sleep can have a negative impact on our physical, mental and emotional functioning as well as our energy levels and health. Disruptions in sleep can be caused by a variety of factors, such as snoring, teeth grinding and nightmares. Usually these factors are normal and sometimes temporary, but if sleep problems occur regularly and interfere with your daily life, you may have a sleep disorders.

Many people have probably heard about taking melatonin. The hormone melatonin helps control the natural sleep-wake cycle, and natural levels of melatonin in the blood are highest at night. Some research suggests that melatonin supplements might be helpful in reducing the time it takes to fall asleep, although the effect is typically mild. But melatonin may cause several side effects, such as: daytime sleepiness, dizziness, headaches and other less common side effects such as abdominal discomfort, mild anxiety, irritability, confusion and short-lasting feelings of depression. In addition, melatonin supplements can interact with various medications.

So this time I would like to introduce you to another substance that is less known. Instead of taking sleeping pills or other drugs, you may want to try a natural substance called Inositol. Inositol is a vitamin-like substance that is naturally present in human cells and in certain foods. The best source of inositol is the liver. Other sources include beans, peas, nuts, whole wheat, raisins, cantaloupe and brown rice.

Inositol is also sold in supplement form and is considered as a natural remedy for various health conditions. According to studies, one of the benefits of inositol is inducing sleep without the side effects of sleep medication, such as feeling drowsy and bleary in the morning. It has been found that if you take inositol before bedtime, it can improve your sleep quality significantly and makes you feel calm and relaxed. According to Livestrong website, inositol is generally tolerated well and has few side effects that are usually mild. It should also be mentioned that alcohol and caffeine inhibit inositol.

You can take inositol in a capsule (about 1,500 to 2,000 mg) or in a powder form. The powder form is mixed easily in water and tastes relatively bland. It is recommended to start with about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of powder (roughly 3/4 g to 1.5 g) and increase the dose until you feel it gives you the best sleep. Usually 2 g of powdered inositol will be enough. It must be mentioned that before taking any supplement for insomnia, consult your doctor first to make sure it doesn’t interfere with medications you already take.

marriage and cancer survival

Marriage and Cancer Survival Rate

There has been a strong correlation between marriage and survival rate for cancer. A Norwegian Study which spanned a period of 40 years had emerged with facts stating that single men had an 18% higher chance of succumbing to cancer when compared to married men. These figures were generated way back in 1970. Recent studies conducted have reported that bachelors were actually at a risk of 35% more with respect to cancer deaths, than married individuals! Therefore, the trend remains a prominent and sustained one.

The sacred institution of marriage helps men considerably in their fight against cancer. But how can the correlation be explained? Listed below are some relevant facts which can help in better understanding.

Marriage and Cancer Survival Rate
When you have a dedicated wife to take care of your health needs, fighting deadly diseases such as cancer becomes simpler. Wives are known to be committed and vigilant care givers. They help in monitoring the condition of their husbands as the ailment progresses, so that the diseases can be limited as much as possible. They also see to it that there aren’t lapses in medicine schedules and treatment procedures, thus ensuring a better response to the disease.
Wives are also known to provide excellent emotional support which helps husbands in combating fatal diseases. The initial diagnosis of a terminal illness such as cancer can be disturbing enough to devastate a person. He may find it difficult to keep up his spirits, thus giving up hope, even before the battle begins. In such cases, a wife or a partner has a crucial role to play. She would be the right person to motivate the patient and instil courage in him.
Marriage and survival rate of cancer are also associated with each other because of the positive lifestyle changes a wife or partner can ring in. For example, she may be a great example setter, helping you to refrain from smoking, drinking, overeating, unhealthy binging etc. She would also be the right person to check you every time you make unhealthy choices in life. Healthier lifestyle would definitely help you in building stronger resistance against the disease.

Although the correlation between marriage and survival rate cancer seems like a positive one, there could be certain loopholes here as well. For example, the role of a wife can easily be played by a dedicated friend, a mate or a live- in partner as well! It all depends on the support provided by loved ones that can help you lead a healthier life.

banana and its interesting facts

This is interesting.

Bananas contain three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

DEPRESSION

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills – eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

ANEMIA
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

BLOOD PRESSURE:

This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

BRAIN POWER

200 students at a Twickenham school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

CONSTIPATION

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

HEARTBURN

Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

MORNING SICKNESS

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

MOSQUITO BITES:

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

HANGOVERS

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

NERVES

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system..
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

ULCERS

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chroniclercases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Many other cultures see bananas as a ‘cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has FOUR TIMES the protein, TWICE the carbohydrate, THREE TIMES the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around so maybe it's time to change that well-known phrase to, "A BANANA a day keeps the doctor away" This is new one

adolescents in united states

Adolescents in the United States: By the Numbers
Over 64 million adolescents ages 10 to 24 live in the United States, representing roughly 21% of Americans.1 In the past ten years, the adolescent population has grown by more than 7%, with the largest gains seen among young adults ages 20 to 24 .1
Young people in the United States refect the increasing diversity of American society, as racial and ethnic minority groups continue to expand. Latinos and African Americans account for 20% and 16% of adolescents aged 10 to 19, compared to 18% and 15% of young adults ages 20 to 24. Conversely, while White youth represent 61% of young adults, they account for 58% of adolescents.2 Tis growth of minority communities is expected to continue in the coming decades, with estimates projecting that white youth will account for 48% of adolescents by 2040.3
Other trends seen among adolescent populations in the United States include a rising number of young people living in immigrant families (19% in 1990 to 24% in 2008),4 increasing school enrollment, and declining high school dropout rates.5 Further, 10.2 million young people lived in poverty in 2006, accounting for 23% of all Americans living in poverty.

severe acute respiratory syndrome

Severe acute respiratory syndrome with high mortality rates (∼50%) is associated with a novel group 2c betacoronavirus designated Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). We synthesized a panel of contiguous cDNAs that spanned the entire genome. Following contig assembly into genome-length cDNA, transfected full-length transcripts recovered several recombinant viruses (rMERS-CoV) that contained the expected marker muta- tions inserted into the component clones. Because the wild-type MERS-CoV contains a tissue culture-adapted T1015N mutation in the S glycoprotein, rMERS-CoV replicated ∼0.5 log less efficiently than wild-type virus. In addition, we ablated expression of the accessory protein ORF5 (rMERS•ORF5) and replaced it with tomato red fluorescent protein (rMERS-RFP) or deleted the entire ORF3, 4, and 5 accessory cluster (rMERS-ΔORF3–5). Recombinant rMERS- CoV, rMERS-CoV•ORF5, and MERS-CoV-RFP replicated to high titers, whereas MERS-ΔORF3–5showed1–1.5 logs reduced titer compared with rMERS-CoV. Northern blot analyses confirmed the associated molecular changes in the recombinant viruses, and sequence analy- sis demonstrated that RFP was expressed from the appropriate con- sensus sequence AACGAA. We further show dipeptidyl peptidase 4 expression, MERS-CoV replication, and RNA and protein synthesis in human airway epithelial cell cultures, primary lung fibroblasts, primary lung microvascular endothelial cells, and primary alveolar type II pneumocytes, demonstrating a much broader tissue tropism than severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus. The avail- ability of a MERS-CoV molecular clone, as well as recombinant viruses expressing indicator proteins, will allow for high-throughput testing of therapeutic compounds and provide a genetic platform for studying gene function and the rational design of live virus vaccines.

brain

Men aren't from Mars and women aren't from Venus, but their brains really are wired differently, a new study suggests.

The research, which involved imaging the brains of nearly 1,000 adolescents, found that male brains had more connections within hemispheres, whereas female brains were more connected between hemispheres. The results, which apply to the population as a whole and not individuals, suggest that male brains may be optimized for motor skills, and female brains may be optimized for combining analytical and intuitive thinking.

"On average, men connect front to back [parts of the brain] more strongly than women," whereas "women have stronger connections left to right," said study leader Ragini Verma, an associate professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania medical school. But Verma cautioned against making sweeping generalizations about men and women based on the results.

Previous studies have found behavioral differences between men and women. For example, women may have better verbal memory and social cognition, whereas men may have better motor and spatial skills, on average. Brain imaging studies have shown that women have a higher percentage of gray matter, the computational tissue of the brain, while men have a higher percentage of white matter, the connective cables of the brain. But few studies have shown that men's and women's brains are connected differently.

In the study, researchers scanned the brains of 949 young people ages 8 to 22 (428 males and 521 females), using a form of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) known as diffusion tensor imaging, which maps the diffusion of water molecules within brain tissue. The researchers analyzed the participants as a single group, and as three separate groups split up by age.

As a whole, the young men had stronger connections within cerebral hemispheres while the young women had stronger connections between hemispheres, the study, detailed today (Dec. 2) in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, found. However, the cerebellum, a part of the brain below the cerebrum that plays a role in coordinating muscle movement, showed the opposite pattern, with males having stronger connections between hemispheres.

Roughly speaking, the back of the brain handles perception and the front of the brain handles action; the left hemisphere of the brain is the seat of logical thinking, while the right side of the brain begets intuitive thinking. The findings lend support to the view that males may excel at motor skills, while women may be better at integrating analysis and intuitive thinking.

"It is fascinating that we can see some of functional differences in men and women structurally," Verma told LiveScience. However, the results do not apply to individual men and women, she said. "Every individual could have part of both men and women in them," she said, referring to the connectivity patterns her team observed.

When the researchers compared the young people by age group, they saw the most pronounced brain differences among adolescents (13.4 to 17 years old), suggesting the sexes begin to diverge in the teen years. Males and females showed the greatest differences in inter-hemisphere brain connectivity during this time, with females having more connections between hemispheres primarily in the frontal lobe. These differences got smaller with age, with older females showing more widely distributed connections throughout the brain rather than just in the frontal lobe.

Currently, scientists can't quantify how much an individual has male- or female-like patterns of brain connectivity. Another lingering question is whether the structural differences result in differences in brain function, or whether differences in function result in structural changes.

The findings could also help scientists understand why certain diseases, such as autism, are more prevalent in males.
Rare Cancers in Children

Although, the incidence of cancer is significantly low in children, there are some rare forms of cancer that have affected infants, kids and adolescents. Read on to know such cancer forms.

Rare Cancer of Abdomen in Children

Carcinoma of the Adrenal Cortex— This type of cancer is termed as adrenocortical tumour and is  most commonly encountered in the foetus and infants. Adrenal Cortex is the cortical part of the adrenal gland, which is responsible for the production of corticosteroid and androgen hormones. This type of cancer is classified as adrenocortical carcinomas and adrenocortical adenomas. Occurrence of adrenocortical carcinomas may trigger continuous secretion of hormones developing masculine characteristics in the person irrespective of gender.
Carcinoma of the Stomach— This is among the most unusual cancers found in kids. Asian kids are at an increased risk of gastric cancer, especially Japanese and Chinese kids. When a child is diagnosed with anaemia is when he/she is diagnosed with cancer of the stomach, which is also known as gastric cancer.  This type of cancer presents symptoms, such as pain in the upper abdomen, vomiting, nausea, change in bowel habits and tiredness. It often leads to reduced appetite and weight loss.
Cancer of the Pancreas— Also known as pancreatoblastoma, it is a rare type of cancer that is encountered by children and adolescents, though its incidence until now has been very rare. First described in 1959, the cancer of the pancreas is common amongst Asians  compared with the whites. The cancer of the pancreas can further be classified into squamous cell carcinomas, acinic cell carcinomas, liposarcomas, lymphomas and malignant insulinomas and glucagonomas.

Rare Head and Neck Cancer in Children

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma— This unsual type of cancer develops in the epithelium of the nasopharynx, which is the lining of the nasal cavity and throat (pharynx). A very rare cancer in kids below 10 years of age, the cancer of the nasopharynx has a higher incidence in adolescents compared with other age groups.  The kids of North African and Southeast Asian origin have greater possibilities of developing this type of cancer than children of other origins.
Esthesioneuroblastoma— First characterised in 1924, this unusual cancer form arises from the olfactory epithelium and metastasises to the nasal cavity. The average age of the affected children lies within the adolescent age group .i.e, 12 to 19 years. The youngest child, who was diagnosed with esthesioneuroblastoma, was two years old. This type of cancer presents symptoms, such as those of loss of taste and vision.
Thyroid Tumours— Tumour of the thyroid gland is termed as adenomas or carcinomas. Adenomas are benign whereas carcinomas are malignant. Adenoma leads to enlarged growth of the gland. Malignant carcinoma metastasises to the lungs or lymph nodes present in the neck. Thyroid nodules in children are five times more susceptible than those in adults.

Other Rare Cancers of Childhood

Oral Cancers.
Salivary Gland Tumours.
Malignant Rhabdoid Tumours.
Melanotic Neuroectodermal Tumours of Infancy.
Laryngeal Cancer and Papillomatosis.
Retinoblastoma.
10000 times stronger killer of CANCER than Chemo

"10000 times stronger killer of CANCER than Chemo".. do share it.. can save many lives, fill up hopes and build confidence in the patients...
The Sour Sop or the fruit from the graviola tree is a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than Chemo.

Why are we not aware of this? Its because some big corporation want to make back their money spent on years of research by trying to make a synthetic version of it for sale.

So, since you know it now you can help a friend in need by letting him know or just drink some sour sop juice yourself as prevention from time to time. The taste is not bad after all. It’s completely natural and definitely has no side effects. If you have the space, plant one in your garden.
The other parts of the tree are also useful.

The next time you have a fruit juice, ask for a sour sop.

How many people died in vain while this billion-dollar drug maker concealed the secret of the miraculous Graviola tree?

This tree is low and is called graviola ! in Brazi l, guanabana in Spanish and has the uninspiring name “soursop” in English. The fruit is very large and the subacid sweet white pulp is eaten out of hand or, more commonly, used to make fruit drinks, sherbets and such.

The principal interest in this plant is because of its strong anti-cancer effects. Although it is effective for a number of medical conditions, it is its anti tumor effect that is of most interest. This plant is a proven cancer remedy for cancers of all types.

Besides being a cancer remedy, graviola is a broad spectrum antimicrobial agent for both bacterial and fungal infections, is effective against internal parasites and worms, lowers high blood pressure and is used for depression, stress and nervous disorders.

If there ever was a single example that makes it dramatically clear why the existence of Health Sciences Institute is so vital to Americans like you, it’s the incredible story behind the Graviola tree..

The truth is stunningly simple: Deep within the Amazon Rainforest grows a tree that could literally revolutionize what you, your doctor, and the rest of the world thinks about cancer treatment and chances of survival. The future has never looked more promising.

Research shows that with extracts from this miraculous tree it now may be possible to:
* Attack cancer safely and effectively with an all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and hair loss
* Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections
* Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment
* Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life

The source of this information is just as stunning: It comes from one of America ‘s largest drug manufacturers, th! e fruit of over 20 laboratory tests conducted since the 1970′s! What those tests revealed was nothing short of mind numbing… Extracts from the tree were shown to:

* Effectively target and kill malignant cells in 12 types of cancer, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer..
* The tree compounds proved to be up to 10,000 times stronger in slowing the growth of cancer cells than Adriamycin, a commonly used chemotherapeutic drug!
* What’s more, unlike chemotherapy, the compound extracted from the Graviola tree selectivelyhunts
down and kills only cancer cells.. It does not harm healthy cells!

The amazing anti-cancer properties of the Graviola tree have been extensively researched–so why haven’t you heard anything about it? If Graviola extract is

One of America ‘s biggest billion-dollar drug makers began a search for a cancer cure and their research centered on Graviola, a legendary healing tree from the Amazon Rainforest.

Various parts of the Graviola tree–including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds–have been used for centuries by medicine men and native Indi! ans in S outh America to treat heart disease, asthma, liver problems and arthritis. Going on very little documented scientific evidence, the company poured money and resources into testing the tree’s anti-cancerous properties–and were shocked by the results. Graviola proved itself to be a cancer-killing dynamo.
But that’s where the Graviola story nearly ended.

The company had one huge problem with the Graviola tree–it’s completely natural, and so, under federal law, not patentable. There’s no way to make serious profits from it.

It turns out the drug company invested nearly seven years trying to synthesize two of the Graviola tree’s most powerful anti-cancer ingredients. If they could isolate and produce man-made clones of what makes the Graviola so potent, they’d be able to patent it and make their money back. Alas, they hit a brick wall. The original simply could not be replicated. There was no way the company could protect its profits–or even make back the millions it poured into research.

As the dream of huge profits evaporated, their testing on Graviola came to a screeching halt. Even worse, the company shelved the entire project and chose not to publish the findings of its research!

Luckily, however, there was one scientist from the Graviola research team whose conscience wouldn’t let him see such atrocity committed. Risking his career, he contacted a company that’s dedicated to harvesting medical plants from the Amazon Rainforest and blew the whistle.

Miracle unleashed
When researchers at the Health Sciences Institute were alerted to the news of Graviola,! they be gan tracking the research done on the cancer-killing tree. Evidence of the astounding effectiveness of Graviola–and its shocking cover-up–came in fast and furious….

….The National Cancer Institute performed the first scientific research in 1976. The results showed that Graviola’s “leaves and stems were found effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells.” Inexplicably, the results were published in an internal report and never released to the public…

….Since 1976, Graviola has proven to be an immensely potent cancer killer in 20 independent laboratory tests, yet no double-blind clinical trials–the typical benchmark mainstream doctors and journals use to judge a treatment’s value–were ever initiated….

….A study published in the Journal of Natural Products, following a recent study conducted at Catholic University of South Korea stated that one chemical in Graviola was found to selectively kill colon cancer cells at “10,000 times the potency of (the commonly used chemotherapy drug) Adriamycin…”

….The most significant part of the Catholic University of South Korea report is that Graviola was shown to selectively target the cancer cells, leaving healthy cells untouched. Unlike chemotherapy, which indiscriminately targets all actively reproducing cells (such as stomach and hair cells), causing the often devastating side effects of nausea and hair loss in cancer patients.

…A study at Purdue University recently found that leaves from the Graviola tree killed cancer cells among six human cell lines and were especially effective against prostate, pancreatic and lung cancers…. Seven years of silence broken–it’s finally here!
